Darcy Richardson provides expert testimony and consultation for forensic toxicology cases. She has trained police officers and attorneys, and has been qualified in analytical chemistry, blood and breath alcohol testing, drug and alcohol impairment, drug and alcohol physiology and pharmacology, among other categories. She has testified on many aspects of toxicology cases including both evidential and preliminary breath testing devices, blood testing for alcohol and drugs, alternative matrix analysis, quality control standards and on drug and alcohol impairment and toxicity. Throughout her years of experience she has seen it all and provided consultation and testimony on a wide variety of cases.
She believes that the most important thing when consulting is to stand by the science; because of this philosophy Darcy is a credible, objective witness who enjoys a good reputation throughout the community.
She has provided testimony for both the prosecution and defense in civil and criminal cases as well as presenting testimony in front of licensing boards. She is a member of the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists (NEAFS), The International Association of Chemical Testing (IACT) as well as the Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT). In her "spare time" she helped found the Safety Team, a non-profit organization focused on teaching self defense and empowerment to girls and women. She holds a second degree black belt in Kenpo-Jitsu Karate and a first degree black belt in Modern Arnis. She is also an author published under the name Darcy Marks.
